• Pathway 1: Re-entry into Formal Education: For students who wish to complete their formal schooling, the program provides intensive academic coaching. The curriculum focuses on strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy skills to bridge learning gaps. Upon completion, Udisha facilitates their enrollment into the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), allowing them to earn their secondary school certificates and pursue higher education.

• Pathway 2: Immediate Employability through Vocational Skills: For youth who need to enter the workforce quickly due to economic pressures, the program offers market-aligned vocational training. This pathway equips them with high-demand technical skills, making them immediately employment-ready. Key training areas include:

The curriculum of the Udisha Literacy Program is designed to be both practical and inspiring.

• Foundational Learning: The program emphasizes the core principles of the National Initiative for Proficiency in Reading with Understanding and Numeracy (NIPUN Bharat), ensuring that all students develop strong reading, writing, and arithmetic skills.11

• Technology-Centric Skills: By focusing on computer programming and accounting software, the program directly aligns with the needs of India's growing digital economy, preparing students for the jobs of the future.

• Holistic Growth: Inspired by the belief that education must build character as well as intellect, the program incorporates life skills training, moral education, and confidence-building activities. Students are taught discipline, responsibility, and the importance of contributing positively to society.

Future Vision

Udisha is committed to expanding the reach of its Literacy Program. Our goal is to establish learning centers in every district where we operate, with a special focus on remote and tribal areas.
